Introducing Boise Chiropractor Dr. Jon Gray
Years ago something happened to me that changed my life forever.
I was young and having a great time. I skied, played hockey, and enjoyed being active. But, then, one day it happened without warning?I was rebounding in basketball and my legs gave out. I started to get bad neck and back pain. It soon becomes so intense that skiing and basketball were out of the question.
I went to the medical doctor who specialized in backs. He gave me pills and said I would probably need surgery in my twenties and referred me to physical therapy. The physical therapist confirmed the medical doctorâ?(TM)s verdict and said he could help relieve symptoms until the inevitable surgery. So, here I was, a young guy in my prime missing out on all the activities I loved. I was scared, frustrated, and wasnâ?(TM)t looking forward to a life of pills and surgery.
Finally, my momâ?(TM)s friend suggested a new doctor who worked with the US Olympic ski team. The new doctor did an exam, took some x-rays, and then â?oeadjusted? my spine. The adjustment didnâ?(TM)t hurt, it actually felt good. And, guess what? I got relief, and I could ski and be active again. I was completely amazed. In my twenties when it was anticipated I would be scheduled for back surgery, I was practicing with the college judo team.
By the way, did I mention that this new doctor was a chiropractor? Chiropractic worked so well for me, that I decided to go to chiropractic school myself! And, thatâ?(TM)s how it happened.
Itâ?(TM)s strange how life is, because now people come to see me with their back problems.
I have been involved in rehabilitation and chiropractic since 1990 when I began working my way through undergrad in orthopedic rehabilitation. I have a Doctorate of Chiropractic and a BS in Human Anatomy from Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas. I also have a BS in Zoology from ISU. I interned with Parker College clinics and The Scoliosis Treatment center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I opened my practice in 2000.
I enjoy spending time with my family, working out, skiing, backpacking, and generally being outdoors. Recently, I began learning how to play the guitar.
Our family has enjoyed the benefits of chiropractic wellness from the start. My wife received chiropractic care throughout her pregnancies, helping her to be more comfortable and deliver our children safely. Weâ?(TM)ve adjusted our children from birthâ?"theyâ?(TM)ve rarely had earaches. Ask us sometime about their stories.
Many people come to our office with health loss and fear they will never regain it. We give them hope. We focus on finding the root causes of health problems and not just covering it up. A doctor of chiropractic today is the best-trained professional for non-surgical and non-drug approach to correcting your health problems. The best part of my job is when I hear that Joe is pain-free for the first time in 20 years and can do yard work or that Ginny is off her medication and doesnâ?(TM)t have ulcerative colitis anymore or that Clinton is now training for a marathon at age 60 after thinking he couldnâ?(TM)t anymore.
Our patients overcome health challenges in ways they never thought possible.
