Comprehensive Eye Examinations
A comprehensive eye exam consists of case history, systemic blood pressure screening, color vision, depth perception, neurological problems, binocular vision or teaming of the eyes, refractive errors (nearsighted, farsighted, astigmatism), external and internal eye health, cataract, and glaucoma screening.

Infant & Child Eye Examinations
These examinations are given to rule out early developmental vision problems such as amblyopia, strabismus, extreme farsightedness, nearsightedness or astigmatism in one or both eyes. These conditions tend in run in families and need to be identified as early as possible. A dilated health exam is routinely included to check for disease inside the eye.

Computer Vision Assessment
Vision problems related to computer use can occur because of visual and eye coordination deficiencies, health factors, and improperly designed work-stations. In addition to a thorough eye exam, the Prio Testing Unit (a new technology) is used to simulate the computer screen and the patients visual responses are checked. A history form is sent to the patient prior to the exam to check for ergonomic factors that can cause problems.

Many patients with problems appreciate using specially designed computer spectacles or need a short course of vision therapy (done at their computer station) to achieve visual comfort and efficiency.

* Bifocal contact lenses: New technology has enabled many companies to develop many advanced contact lens types. People can enjoy a variety of contact lenses available on the market, such as one-day disposable soft contact lenses, two-week disposable lenses, daily wear lenses, frequent replacement lenses that correct for astigmatism, disposable bifocal soft and daily wear bifocal soft or hard contact lenses for people who turn forty and need bifocal or reading glasses for close-up work.

* Prevention of rapid progression of myopia (near-sightedness) is possible for some children with Rigid Gas Permeable contact lenses or bifocal contact lenses and glasses when indicated.

Visual Efficiency Examinations
When indicated, a visual efficiency examination will be given to rule out visual efficiency dysfunction that may cause or contribute to learning difficulties or near point tasks avoidance behavior. Tests include eye muscle balance at far and near distances, smooth tracking, tracking eye movement in reading, near point focusing and fusion skills, flexibility of focusing system, refractive error before and after dilation.

In cases of reading problems, a Visagraph II analysis of reading eye movements is completed. The Visagraph is an infrared eye monitor and computer designed to identify visual dysfunctions affecting reading and to investigate the maturity of a person's reading strategy.

Strabismus Examination
Vision problems related to computer use can occur because of visual and eye coordination deficiencies, health factors, and improperly designed work-stations. Many patients with problems appreciate using specially designed computer spectacles (occuapational glasses) or need a short course of vision therapy to achieve visual comfort and efficiency.

Perceptual Skill Assessment
When indicated, a perceptual skill assessment is given to evaluate the fundamental perceptual processing skills important for early learning stages of reading, writing, and arithmetic. Tests of vision perception, perceptual speed, spatial concepts, reversal confusion for numbers, letters and words, visual-motor integration, sentence copying skills, fine-motor coordination, auditory perception, short term memory and sequencing, dyslexia determination, attention deficit, and computerized Visagraph analysis of reading eye movements are included in the perceptual skill assessment.

Vision & Perception Therapy Services
We design, administer, and monitor training programs for visual efficiency and perceptual skills dysfunction and therapy programs for amblyopia, nystagmus, and some types of strabismus.

General Eye Care Services

* Laser vision (PRK, LASIK) consultation and co-management with ophthalmologists of many laser vision correction centers.

* Treatment of eye diseases such as bacterial, viral, dry eye, allergic conjunctivitis, and others. Diagnosis and co-management for glaucoma, cataract, macular degeneration, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathies, and others.

* Prescription spectacles are available in all varieties and tints in our high fashion frames boutique. Sun and ultraviolet protection is available in all styles. We also have spectacles for use in sports from scuba to racquetball.
