AQUATIC THERAPY
The Aquatic Therapy Center at Main Street Physical Therapy features a unique, warm water resistance therapy pool. The pool is 8' x 12' and is 4 1/2 feet deep. A high powered jet creates a current for resistance walking, jogging or swimming. Without the use of the current, traditional aquatic exercises can be performed. We provide private, individualized sessions, rather than aquatic therapy in a group setting.

Aquatic therapy is the most beneficial form of therapy in recovering from a variety of medical conditions. The buoyancy of the water assists in supporting the weight of the patient, which relieves stress on joints, making it easier and less painful to perform exercises.

Aquatic therapy can help:
increase blood flow
increase muscle tone & strength
rehabilitate injuries
increase flexibility
eliminate spinal fatigue
posture correction
balance deficiencies
lowers blood pressure
relieve stiffness & aches
reduce body weight stress
reduce pain while exercising
promote controlled movements

The most common conditions aquatic therapy benefits:

muscle spasms
sports injuries
obesity/weight management
prenatal swelling
fibromyalgia
sprains/strains
shoulder/rotator cuff syndrome
